I’ve been absent for several days because I’ve been busy dealing with one crisis after another.
September 8, Amy’s temperature spiked at 38.2. Off we went to the hospital at 6pm. We waited for 16 hours to be told the the Ctscan was off, she has an infection and they were going to admit her.
I have no words to describe how torturous that wait was. If I had know earlier that she would be admitted I would have gone home but they insisted she wouldn’t kept overnight.
We assumed she had an infection but to read the scan results was very hard to digest. It appears that there are some lymph nodes that have become so swollen they are now squeezing the conduit so urine can’t drain. She has severe hydronephrosis ( fluid) in her right kidney as well as these mysterious lymph nodes.
The hospital wasn’t able to do anything on Sunday or Monday because they aren’t sure what to do. A call was made to her oncologist and urologist. We’re still waiting for a plan.
At this time it seems like the stent will be removed and a nephrostomy tube/ bag will be inserted tomorrow.
What will happen with the enlarged lymph? Who knows. The radiologist said it was metastatic disease but today they’re thinking that might be wrong.
So we wait…
